Who/what inspires your practice?

"The little me."

Why?

"I remember being a kid with so many “crazy” ideas whirling around in my head. I remember being undecided when asked, “what do you want to be when you grow up?” I just imagined an open place where I had access to unlimited supplies and mediums (I now know as, an artist Studio). Back then it seemed imaginary, but I always knew that’s what MY “office” would look like."

How would you describe your practice?

"In this new season, I do feel my practice pivoting and becoming more intentional and community based."

How do you sustain your discipline?

"STILL IN PROGRESS. Praying for direction and strength when it comes to boundaries. I try spend my free days on my own, make time for family and keep like-minded dreamers in my circle. More recently, I started journaling again; recognizing patterns and holding myself accountable."

Funny/ironic/wild story of a time in your studio?

"Hmm, I think the range of different projects I have in my studio at one time is funny/ironic. Sometimes ranging from celebrity work to shoe repairs."

Favorite quote?

“Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.” — Buddha

What makes you proud of yourself?

"Well, perseverance. I navigated this path on the my own & I’ve inspired many others to do the same. I “followed my dreams”, and we see that in movies so it seems cliche or unattainable but I am actively creating my own movie."
